One thing I've done when bored, and I bet you guys have done it too, is to go to Google and put in various phrases to see what websites come up. I put in the phrase "it is wrong to be different" and it came up with about 20 results. All these diffferent folks observed that society believed it was wrong to be different, but seemed to take some kind of position against the idea. I find this interesting. I guess first of all I wish I had a clear definition of exactly what Society is in this sense. Are these people who disagree with Society's ideas some kind of rebel set, or can you take an idea as a given, but disagree with it at the same time. I find it funny that nobody wrote anything to defend or justify the position that it is wrong to be different. So here's where you guys can get creative. Imagine yourself as Society and defend the idea that it is wrong to be different.

I would say it is wrong to be different as you are challenging authority, cocking a snoop at convention and well established norms. You are perceived as being unruly, and having the capacity for self determination, to question what is said and done, by the powers that be.
